General Position Summary: The Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day business functions of a commercial sheet metal fabrication company. This position works closely with the Business Operations Manager to ensure smooth workflow across departments, optimize operational efficiency, and maintain high standards of production and service delivery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Assist in coordinating fabrication work orders from intake to billing.
2. Liaise with shop foreman to ensure timely completion of projects and arrange delivery of completed goods, and communicate regularly with fabrication teams to anticipate material needs and delivery timelines
3. Maintain and update job tracking systems, work orders, and inventory records.
4. Assist in scheduling of inbound and outbound shipments and organizing packslips and bill of ladings, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely supply of materials and services.
5. Support procurement activities including vendor communication and purchase orders.
6. Complete and send weekly billings of finished work orders
7. Step in for the Business Operations Manager during absences or high-demand periods.
8. Participate in weekly planning and operational meetings.
9. Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations.
Skills Required to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job:
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and production tracking tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct reports.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in manufacturing or fabrication operations, preferably in sheet metal or construction-related industries
Licensing or Other Special Certifications Required: Maintain a valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record.

Paid Time Off: Eligible employees begin accruing PTO as of their date of hire and accrual rates are based on years of service. Base annual accrual starts at 120 hours/15 days for full time status. PTO is a combination of sick and vacation accruals. RMW follows the required WA State Sick Leave guidelines and employees are provided (1) for every 40 hours worked as part of the PTO package. RMW also offers (7) paid holidays, plus (1) Floating Holiday to be used within the calendar year.
